Sustainable development has become a fundamental principle of global
interaction in the 21st century. The world faces large-scale challenges – from climate
change to growing inequality – requiring coordinated and effective action by all
countries. The presented statistical collection “Sustainable Development Goals
in the Republic of Uzbekistan” provides a comprehensive analysis of progress towards
achieving the global goals approved by the UN General Assembly in 2015.
The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development serves as a guide for
achieving a fair and inclusive future, proposing specific measures to eliminate poverty,
strengthen social justice and protect the environment. Uzbekistan, actively supporting
the Global Agenda, has taken responsibility for the implementation of 17 SDGs
and 169 targets designed to ensure a balance between the economic, social
and environmental aspects of development.
The Republic of Uzbekistan is taking significant steps to achieve the Sustainable
Development Goals, reflecting them in the national strategy “Uzbekistan – 2030”.
These initiatives are mutually reinforcing, aimed at improving the well-being of people,
protecting natural resources and sustainable growth. The most important priorities
of the strategy include reducing poverty, improving the quality of education,
strengthening environmental protection measures and ensuring social integration.
This compendium is not just a progress report, but also a call to action. Each
chapter focuses on specific aspects of sustainable development, offering an analysis
of current trends and potential paths for further development. We believe that
cooperation between all participants in the process – the state, civil society, business
and every citizen – is the key to successful implementation of the SDGs.
